The BCA were pleased to be partnering and collaborating with a number of organisations in the holding of the Birmingham Armed Forces Day on Saturday 29 June.
Held at Brindley Place in the city centre, the event celebrated the UK’s armed forces and those of overseas commonwealth nations who had fought and do fight alongside the UK today.
The event commenced at 10.00 a.m. with the opening ceremony followed at
11:00am with veterans & students from the Military Preparation College marching in and a salute to the Armed Forces.
“There were a number of military related stalls at the event as well as ours”, said BCA Chairman, Keith Stokes-Smith, “as we were keen to be there so as to recognise and feature numerous images of commonwealth armed forces beyond the UK.
We also took the opportunity to promote the BCA and awareness of the commonwealth as a force for good”
The day also included entertainment featuring the Coleshill Youth Brass Band and a trio of singers, the ‘Boogaloo Babes.
“My thanks to BCA members Nura Ali, Tamara Prosper and Imrul Hasan for their contributions”
