“The Birmingham Commonwealth Association (BCA) is passionate about strengthening its engagement, partnerships, and collaboration with universities and their students,” said Keith Stokes-Smith, BCA Chairman.

“Although our focus is Birmingham, we recognise that many students who live here study at universities beyond the city. That is why it was particularly exciting that, following constructive discussions with the President of the University of Worcester Students’ Union, we were pleased to celebrate the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between both parties on 24 November 2025 at the University. The MOU sets out shared objectives and a clear commitment from both parties to work together.”

Commenting on the agreement, University of Worcester Students’ Union President, Ronke Akintan, said: “We are thrilled to be working alongside the Birmingham Commonwealth Association. This partnership opens up exciting opportunities for our students to connect, collaborate, and contribute to a wider community beyond the University. Together, we can champion shared values, celebrate diversity, and create meaningful experiences that will benefit students both here in Worcester and across Birmingham.”
