BCA partner with the Military Preparation Collage for Training Students (MPCT) – Remembrance Parade in Birmingham 12 November 2023

Commonwealth flags flew for the very first time at Birmingham’s Remembrance parade on 12 November in Colmore Row thanks to a partnership between it, the MPCT and the parade organisers.

Keith Stokes-Smith, Chairman of the BCA said ” We must not forget that in 1914 the whole of the British Empire as it was then known contributed to the British war effort with hundreds of thousands of soldiers and labourers from Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, the Caribbean, Africa, (to include from Nigeria, the Gold Coast (Ghana) and Sierra Leone, Kenya, Uganda and Nyasaland (Malawi) and South Africa) contributing. Together with some of our BCA members, we felt it was and is important to better reflect the contribution of the wider commonwealth and were therefore very pleased that our colleagues forming the Remembrance parade committee facilitated the joint BCA/MPCT contribution to the event”

We will remember them, and the contribution and sacrifice made by many, from across the Commonwealth.
