The BCA are pleased to be partnering BMet college, BCU and BCA member, Genisys ARCt, in the organising and holding of a Commonwealth Fashion show in December 2024. Current plans are for it to be held at the premises of BCU engaging their students and those of BMet in the production of the event and the making of 56 garments, one for each of the 56 Commonwealth members. The event will showcase the skills of the students in the creation and design of the garments, and in turn upskilling them, as well as providing the opportunity for all to learn about the Commonwealth, its nation members, and its values.
The BCA has written to all London based Commonwealth High Commissions inviting the High Commissioner to attend the event, sponsor £200 towards the cost of holding the event and supply relevant material about their country to be given out or displayed at the event. The BCA is also trying to source fabrics to be used in the making of the garments.
