Commenting upon becoming a member Taher said “I joined the Birmingham Commonwealth Association to contribute to a network that aligns with my values of collaboration, inclusion, and global connection. The BCA’s commitment to empowering communities, fostering partnerships across sectors, and promoting bilateral trade and opportunity across the Commonwealth strongly resonates with my passion for social impact, international engagement, and community leadership. Being part of this network allows me to play a role in shaping a more connected, equitable and forward-thinking Birmingham, while also contributing to wider Commonwealth goals.”

Keith Stokes-Smith, BCA Chair remarked “ it is a pleasure to welcome Taher to the fold. It has been clear for some weeks in my engagement with him that he has great respect for the BCA and its endeavours including its engagement with students. The BCA has had connections with Aston Uni for many years . To add to the good news, Aston Students Union has also become a member, the first student Union to do so. We will certainly aim to partner them and their members in every way we can . We understand Taher will be joining the BCA’s Education group and help shape its program of initiatives said Keith”
